To add a comment in PickPDF, choose the comment tool, click the target area, and enter the note. To add a link, draw a clickable rectangle and choose a website, email address, phone number, or page destination. PickPDF writes comments as PDF annotations and stores link targets in the page when you save.

Use a comment when a reader needs context. Use a link when a click should open a destination or move to another page.
Place the active region
Click for a note or draw the rectangle that should respond to a click. Keep link regions inside the visible label or button.
Enter and verify the target
Check the full URL, email address, telephone number, or page destination. Avoid shortened links when readers need to judge the destination.
Save and test in another viewer
Open the saved PDF outside PickPDF and test each link. Keep a source copy because current builds do not re-import saved comments on reopen.

Comments preserve the page while recording a review note
A comment works well for a question, source note, approval request, or explanation that should remain separate from the printed page. Place the marker near the relevant content and write enough context for a reader who did not attend the review meeting.
Current PickPDF builds write comments into the saved PDF but do not re-import those saved comments when you reopen the file in PickPDF. Treat the exported PDF as the review record and retain the working source until that limitation changes.
Link rectangles need a clear visual label
A PDF link stores an action inside a page rectangle. The rectangle can point to a web address, compose an email, start a phone action, or move to another page. Readers should see text or a shape that explains the result before they click.
Keep the clickable area tight around its label. Large invisible regions can block text selection or surprise a reader. Use complete HTTPS destinations and test links after any page crop, page insertion, or page reordering operation.
Review links as part of document security
A link can send a reader outside the PDF, so review every destination before distribution. Remove obsolete tracking links, check for spelling errors in domains, and avoid targets that expose private identifiers in the URL.
PickPDF does not need to upload the document to place comments or links. Clicking a web, email, or phone link can still contact an external service, based on the action and the reader’s device.
